Two 'Star Wars' Spin-Offs Announced
![]() |
http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2013-02-06/star-wars-spin-off-films-confirmed-by-disney |
Even though it is in it's early stages, it is thought that the adventures of a young Han Solo will be set between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV:A New Hope. No doubt a new leading actor will be required cause if a old Harrison Ford is playing a young Han Solo, it's just going to look a little bit peculiar!
Following this, the story of Boba Fett is also being suggested to take place between Episode IV: A New Hope and Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. There isn't as much complications involved in casting him as he didn't take his mask off for the original trilogy.
Working on these spin-offs are writers Simon Kinberg (Mr & Mrs Smith) and Lawrence Kasdan (Screenwriter for Raiders of the lost ark). Both have tremendous talents and a resumé to be proud of so there is no doubt this project is in good hands, expect to see some excellent stories.

Warm Bodies Review.
Personally I find zombie films a little boring, a bit predictable. Shaun of the Dead being a hilarious exception, of course. But admittedly, when I came across the 'Warm Bodies' trailer on the internet, I'd already decided before watching that I'd hate it. But I was left pleasantly surprised. Being a sucker for a good love film and for Nicholas Hoult; who plays the role of the ever so loveable 'R', I was curious to find out more of this so called 'paranormal romantic comedy'.
After a zombie apocalypse wipes out most of the living population, R and the rest of the undead mob; including R's comical best friend 'M', spend their time roaming around an abandoned airport, craving human flesh. During a feeding frenzy with a gathering of humans, R spots Julie and feels an immediate urge to protect her from his fellow corpses. R looks out for Julie and the pair bond with one another; causing R to slowly become his former human self, which later spreads amongst the rest of the zombie gang who also begin to regain their human memories and emotions. Though as R and Julie attempt to convince the world of R's phenomenon, they find themselves trapped between the fearful, paranoid humans; including Julie's father and the flesh-seeking 'Bonie' zombies.
Firstly, I thought Nicholas Hoult was the perfect casting for the role of R; his natural, quirky and boyish mannerisms were perfectly suited to that of the love-struck zombie. And on this occasion, I found it refreshing to watch an actor who didn't have a bucket load of experience behind him. It allowed me to keep an open mind, without relating him to dozens of previous films. I also found Teresa Palmer, who is a newbie to me; sweet and charming in the role of Julie. Though she did irritate me when she persistently tried to escape from R; but this just shows how into it I got!
Warm Bodies is clever in so many ways. I mean, who comes up with the idea of 'de-zombifying' someone? It is clear that plenty of thought has gone into the narrative of the film, not to mention the technique. I particularly liked the use of high-key lighting for the outside environment; a nice, subtle contrast between the outside world and the dreary world of the undead..
The story of R and Julie is both sweet, hilarious and surely appealing to almost anyone through it's alternate take on what is in my opinion, becoming a very tedious genre of horror. Give it a try, keep an open mind and I'm sure you'll enjoy it! It's a must see in opinion, though not
coming from a hopeless romantic whatsoever.

Justice League in trouble?
![]() |
http://www.dccomics.com/characters/justice-league |
A problem which just adds to the ongoing list of problems which Warner Bros are having to deal with; the film has no set director nor is there any talk of who will be part of the cast. The film is all over the place and there is no real path to follow, so less people are motivated to get on board and do something.
Needless to say the film is a mess at the moment and the studio are seeking a way forward, when that is likely to happen is unknown but I would say it will be later rather than sooner.
The film still has a planned release date of 2015, as long as things go correctly from here and Warner Bros get a cast assembled, along with a production team to make what should be eventually, a DC masterpiece which will rival Marvels Avengers. Whether it lives up to a comic fanatic’s dreams is yet to be seen, let's hope so!

Scary Movie 5 Trailer
Think Paranormal Activity and think Charlie Sheen, what do you get?
That's right, it must be the next Scary Movie! This time the story is based around ghosts, after a couple bring back there newborn child, some very unusual things start to happen within their household.
Like all paranormal films, a team of experts are brought in to try figure out how the phenomenon is being caused and who is behind it. And like always, they must figure out how to get rid of the very unusual behavior; by what seems to me is a comedic ghost who is messing around with them whilst the couple are extremely serious about it.
As ever, this film is bound to bring laughs and gags; and slating a bad film can only make it much more enjoyable to watch, as well as a huge profit for the film company. After all, they are just turning every bodies thoughts on Paranormal Activity and creating a film on it. To be fair, there won't be much of a difference, as the original is a joke anyway.
Who would had thought a spoof is better than the original itself?
Scaring it's way to a cinema near you with a set release date of 12th of April, 2013.

Lincoln Review
![]() |
http://www.cinematoria.com/lincoln_2012.html |
During my latest trip to the cinema, Lincoln was on the agenda.
After reading through several reviews and watching various award ceremonies; Lincoln seemed to be a spectacular film. It was then decided it was time to go and
see what was making this movie so big.
My only previous knowledge and understanding of Lincoln
is him being a 'vampire slayer' and as far as I’m aware, vampires don’t exist, right?
Having said this, I was keen to start learning about the
understandings and beliefs of Abraham Lincoln, as well as about the power he
had over the American nation. Lincoln has to be one of the best biopics of this
generation, and with such an honorable reputation in Steven Spielberg, this is
surely a film not to be missed.
Lincoln starts a
year (1865) before the end of the civil war with a big fighting scene; although
there is a mountain of controversy the film has to offer, this remains the only battle
scene throughout the film. This is a moving and well thought out
film with a beautifully crafted script written by Tony Kushner who sat down
and re-wrote an old fashioned piece of script that would show off the powers of
one man.
Following his year, Lincoln
is seeking out the Thirteenth Amendment which has to be passed through the
House of Representatives. This was to rule out slavery and if passed, change
the lives of thousands of Americans. Judging by the famous statue, I believe we
know what happened. Of, course in April, 1864, the amendment was passed and
slavery was abolished. Lincoln became a moral icon.
The language in the film, I found somewhat hard to follow as I wasn't familiar with certain political phrases or American speech. That is exactly
where I fell into the trap. This to me was hard to follow, however if it didn’t follow this path it would have been a shambles and the whole
film just wouldn’t have fit with the timing of the event, this is where credit
is due.
The camera work was second to none, through the visual aid
I was able to gain a much more thorough and precise insight as to what was
unfolding before my eyes and gave me something to research when I was home.
This film made me interested in American politics and how certain law men broke
and bent the rules in order for specific law enforcements to take place.
Without this, who knows where America would be now.
Lincoln has several
things throughout the film which he has to care for, these being the Thirteenth
Amendment, the civil war and of course his own family. With his second eldest son
wanting to join the army, it sends divides
throughout the family. This shows just how strong minded Lincoln was, even having a lot on his plate; he comes out on top of
everything and delivers the best results. The stress certainly took its toll
with Grant quoting that Lincoln has 'aged over a decade in the past year’.
This film wouldn't have been where it is today if it wasn’t
for the magnificent and award winning performance of Daniel Day-Lewis. He certainly pulled out all stops and truly delivered.
The supposed personality of Abraham Lincoln was covered
from all angles in what must be one of Day-Lewis’ finest performance to date.
This role looked as though it was made for him, his characterization and how he
was perceived on camera was enough for an audience to believe that this truly is
the man himself, he had me fooled.
The film ends with the death of Abraham Lincoln by
assassination just after the passing of the Third Amendment. The scene of the shooting
is left out for a reason. The camera cuts over to his youngest son who is enjoying the theatre when the news breaks out. There is then another
cut; Lincolns address to the nation a month earlier
where he pinpointed hope and realism.
Overall, there is a reason this film has been nominated for
so many awards, this is a story of a man who wanted equality and is an inspiration to all
and Steven Spielberg has created an incredible film, though one of many incredible Spielberg films. The emotion that runs throughout the film is amazing, the audience is pulled in right from the start with such a gory
battlefield.
You have to see it, to see just how emotional and inspirational
Abraham Lincoln truly was and how slavery was abolished once and for all.
