Disney Set To Distribute Indiana Jones Films

http://michaelhutchenceandme.wordpress.com/2013/06/02/indiana-jones/

The 'Walt Disney Pictures' firm is going from strength to strength after famously purchasing the rights of 'Lucas Arts' to enable to start production on the next saga in the 'Star Wars' franchise, they have just brought the rights to distribute the 'Indiana Jones' franchise.

When 'Disney' brought 'LucasFilm' last year, they brought all the rights to them films including 'Indiana Jones' except the distribution rights for the first four films belong to 'Paramount' and will continue so and will receive a certain amount for the next part of the journey.

There have been rumors beforehand about there being an Indiana Jones 5 which will follow a young Henry Jones has he journeys on another adventure. The story is set to be in place but the casting isn't quite there as a search for a leading actor to place such a remarkable role continues.

Hugh Jackman Unsure On Next 'Wolverine' Role

http://swishost.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Wolverine-Animation-Picture-Wallpaper.jpg
Hugh Jackman released a statement regarding where the future of the wolverine lies, he is said to be having doubt about a fourth solo film. The third is currently in developement and will hit cinemas in the near future.

Jackman said:

"I don’t know whether or not I will do this next movie. I am really proud of (The Wolverine) and I am excited to develop something with Jim Mangold from the beginning because that is a great ride. That’s exciting, to see what we come up with but I have a very high expectation of what it would need to be [for me to star in it] and if it doesn’t reach those, I won’t be doing it."

This isn't the first time he has come out stating he doesn't want to play the character after being uninterested in the Wolverine job in 'X-men: Days Of The Future Past'. He did however, change his mind and has wrapped up filming for what is to be a very successful film.

The question is, can there ever be a replacement actor to play what is rightly known now as Jackmans 'Wolverine'?

Avatar Sequels To Begin Filming In 2014

http://reelclub.wordpress.com/2012/04/29/the-art-of-war-narrative-messages-in-camerons-avatar/
Sam Worthington is all set and ready to start filming the upcoming Avatar films, with the star confirming he is to return to the sets in October 2014.

The pre-production stage is said to be being completed with James Cameron set to bring out the second, third and fourth films in back to back years.

Worthington said in a conversation with an Australian radio station:

"We are going to start [shooting] this time next year and we will do two, three and four."

If the last film is anything to go by, the crew is going to be enormous to be able to complete everything to an even better standard. The shooting will be long at times as it has been suggested filming for all three will take place over a year.

Putting that aside, these are going to be CGI massive films and who doesn't love a bit of Pandora in their lives...

Paranormal Activity : The Marked Ones Trailer

Make of this what you will but It's that time of year again. After in my opinion, several poor attempts of making a horror/ghost story. The guys at Blumhouse Productions and Paramount Pictures are bringing out the fifth installment of Paranormal Activity.

This is a spin-off from the original, featuring a Latino family that happen to get latched upon.

Due in cinemas somewhere in 2014.

Meanwhile here is the trailer:

Dumb & Dumber Star 'Jeff Daniels' Talks Sequel

http://realitypod.com/2013/09/are-humans-getting-dumber-and-dumber/
Everybody remember Dumb & Dumber?

Of course you do, well here's the good news, Dumb & Dumber To is coming out and Jeff Daniels has been speaking of his involvement of the film.

Jeff Daniels suggests that this highly anticipated sequel is set to go even further with even more gross antics, from the duo, than the original.

“The intellectual free-fall from Will MacAvoy to Harry Dunn, imagine if you will,” chuckles the star.

“It pales in comparison and I can’t divulge what, but just that they’ve topped it. The best thing about it? I get to work with a comedic genius.”

Of course what would Dumb & Dumber be without the original duo being cast. That being Jim Carey alongside Jeff Daniels of course and that is happening!

The film is set to hit our screens at some point throughout 2014.

Spin-off To Harry Potter In The Works.

http://jewelry.about.com/od/filmfestivaljewelry/ig/-Harry-Potter--Celebrity-Jewelry/JK-Rowling.htm
Making her screen writing debut, JK Rowling is set to write a new series of Harry Potter themed films.

Many Potterheads are aware of a book featured in the Harry Potter series called 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.' which has been chosen to be the title of the first film.

It was in fact Warner Brothers who proposed the idea to JK Rowling after an approach she gave it the thumbs up. But as usual she was slightly sceptical over the idea. This encouraged her to propose her own idea on how the film should pan out.

She went on to say:

"As I considered Warners' proposal, an idea took shape that I couldn't dislodge. That is how I ended up pitching my own idea for a film to Warner Bros."

The proposed plan is to start 70 years prior to Harry Potter's existence by following the author, Newt Scamander and by expanding the wizarding world to New York.

The fact this isn't going to be a sequel or a prequel makes this idea even more exciting. The one thing all Potterheads have wished for is not only another film but an expansion of the magical world and the different cultures that lie within it. We saw a little of this during 'Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire' and to expand all the way to New York makes it that bit more exciting.

Zack Snyder On Man Of Steel 2

http://www.chud.com/138062/man-of-steel-2-already-on-its-way-goyer-set-for-justice-leage-to-follow/
As visitors made their way to the Warner Bros' 2013 Comic-Con this weekend, many didn't anticipate what they were to find out at the end of the week. As Zack Snyder took the stage, many were optimistic about what was going to be spoken about.

As the show came to an end, Zack Snyder revealed that the next installment of Man Of Steel is to feature Superman AND Batman. This came as a huge shock to everyone but a shock full of excitement .

Whilst many wondered, Zack didn't give away any of the plot but he did allow Man Of Steel star, Henry Lennix to read a line from the comic which suggests that the two superheroes aren't necessarily going to be working together.

The line read;

“I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you."

More questions were asked than answered but be assured, this is going to be one hell of a film.

Who's going to play Batman?
How are they going to cross paths?
Do they become partners or enemies?

Disney To Remake Jungle Book...In Live Action!

According to sources, Disney is looking to reinvent some of the old classics, with talks stating that the studio is to release a live-action remake of the classic animation, The Jungle Book.

According to the sources, the only thing that is stopping the studio creating this is a director, or lack of. This isn't the first time there has been talks of remaking this film in live-action as back in 1994, Stephen Sommers' efforts were thrown away.

Disney will be rivaled into making this film as another studio is also in development stages to release a live-action version of The Jungle Book. This is unusual as you'd imagine Disney own the rights but this film is actually in the public domain meaning anybody can create an adaptation with no right issues attached.

So whilst you sit back and wait for everything to start to come together, just think how amazing it will be to hear 'Bare Necessities' again!

The Purge Review

http://www.scifinow.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/purge-poster.jpg
This film certainly had my heart going on quite a few occasions. Like all films, it had it's positives and it's negatives which  I will discuss within this review. 'The Purge' pulled out all the stops to create a jumpy and truly scary film, by the makers of 'Sinister' and 'Paranormal Activity'.

The narrative is quite clever yet basic. In the year 2022, citizens of America are given the rights to 'Purge'. This means that for 12 hours on one night of the year, all crime of any form is legalized - The state's way of keeping crime below 1% throughout the rest of the year.

The concept is interesting but as the narrative plays out, I found that it was too easy to guess what was to come. I believe this story could have been adapted somewhat better instead of being enclosed to one environment as it didn't really give the film the momentum boost it needed.

I felt the character choices were very good and mysterious at times as at one point I thought that the young boy was going to be the ruthless perpetrator. Though the homeless man was predictable from the get go, which spoiled it slightly. The fact that he was out of shot for most of the film, made the ending more exciting!

Talking of the ending sequence, it was rushed. 85 or so minutes were spent wondering around a dark house, waiting for someone to pop up and get killed - nothing really changed. They could have spiced up the killings or set some traps in the house to make it slightly more exciting! Back to the ending, it finished too quick for me, one minute people are dying and the next it is 7 o'clock the next morning (when 'Purging' ends) and the film has ended.

All in all, this film had a really great narrative but I personally don't think it achieved the greatness that could have been achieved with such a well thought out concept. Saying that, I enjoyed it as it kept me on the edge of my chair every time a corner was turned. One thing I do think is that like 'Paranormal Activity', there will be more films to follow the path of 'Purging', let's just hope it doesn't loose the spark like PA did after several films.

I would recommend people go and see this film but expect that 'The Purge' doesn't meet it's full potential.

Star Trek: Into Darkness Review

http://collider.com/star-trek-into-darkness-banner/
What a way to continue such an exhilarating franchise. With the initial war between Kirk and Spock over they now find themselves on a new voyage as they prepare to reboot their career on board the USS Enterprise. This is the latest installment on what is going to be a long but exciting series as J.J.Abrams reignites the worldly renowned franchise. With this comes a lot of glitzy visual effects with many lens flares that all add to the excellent performances from Chris Pine (Kirk) and Zachary Quinto (Spock).

The film starts by re-introducing where they left off from the first film in 2009 with Kirk  and the crew carrying out missions to help ave the world from a giant eruption. Doing so, he puts Spock at risk which results in having to do a rescue mission. This first scene shows the bromance between the pair growing as he risks the ship being seen in order to save Spock from dying in the eruption. This later leads Kirk into trouble once Spock files a report against him which causes a rift between the pair and they end up being kicked off the USS Enterprise. This one incident creates tension between the two which colors the entire relationship as they prepare to take on a mysterious enemy in John Harrison played by Benedict Cumberbatch. John Harrison is intent on creating a catastrophic war and doing so causes a massive explosion in London killing thousands of people, but who is this guy?

Cumberbatch gives the job in hand everything he has in order to portray a charcter who comes across as very deceiving and very clever. There is a lot of charismatic staring even when he is having ten bells knocked out of him which leads to thinking whether this man can be destroyed and how that is possible. As always, a bromance comes together, with Spock's character evolving rapidly to come to Kirks aide, John Harrison is trying to come between the pair in which neither take a liking to and do something about it.

As the story continues, there is some links starting to appear between the original series and the present and upcoming series which will answer some questions that were asked when the first series was released which to me was genius. This is why J.J. Abrams is such an acclaimed director, with little room to maneuver in terms of events that have got to take place within the film, he has done an excellent job in telling the story. All the characters have started to become the powerhouse characters they are in the originals and are starting to come of age. The whole crew is becoming the unit we are used to see in the old series which is where the franchise has got to be at ready for the blockbuster series that could run for longer than we first imagined.

With terrific performances from Zachery Quinto as Spock, who comes across as vulnerable, emotionally constricted and sensitive, all the traits of a typical Spock. Then there is Chris Pine as Kirk, he plays him perfectly with his cheekiness and strong willed character who when needed to, pulls out all the stops to complete the mission at end. This franchise is really starting to kick off again to a whole new range of Trekkie and it can only get stronger with the creativity and technology that is picking up pace at an alarming rate.

I urge all who haven't, go and watch it, it has everything from story to Visual effects that will blow you away.

Finally,

'Live Long and Prosper'

Scary Movie 5 Review

http://0.tqn.com/d/movies/1/0/N/e/Z/scary-movie5-film-poster.jpg

Without a word of a lie, Scary Movie 5 really isn’t the same film that propelled the franchise in the 1990’s, since the third was released they are just going from bad to worse. This may be because of the lack of horror films to create a spoof from that aren’t being created whereas in the 1990’s there were much more to talk about.

This movie is on par with the worst spoofs and witty comments that were created on Movie 43. The film opens with a couple of drug-stars, sorry just druggies,  in Charlie Sheen and Lindsey Lohan who are basically mocking themselves. Charlie Sheen and Linsey lohan are acting out a sex scene but are instead addressing their very own mental health problems. It looks like somebody needed money…

At times in this film, I found myself being forced to laugh just to add a bit of excitement in the movie. Once the terrible duo finishes at the beginning, it then follows the same path as the Mama storyline. Mama itself has a really good story line, they just didn't pull it off as good as they possibly could have. You would think after three of these the filmmakers would finally realize this is going the wrong way and people aren’t finding this remotely funny anymore. You could almost imagine them sitting in a room discussing how to create a really bad film and still produce big bucks at the cinema.

The film runs for about an hour and twenty minutes but don’t be fooled, this is the longest hour and twenty minutes in your life hoping that the film will end to be hit by another so called ‘gag’ that had my eyes rolling in embarrassment.

Overall, I don’t recommend spending your hard earned pennies on this terrible film, it just seems that the more that come out, the older the jokes become due to the repetition that seems to be occurring but with different films. The outtakes at the end of the film were possibly the funnier parts of the film but as  sat through them even that didn’t tempt a smirk on my face, it just made me realize just how bad the actors/actresses in it were, what an embarrassment. Lets hope for their sake, they have several films already lined up which will to the audience's mind of this shambolic performance.
